How to scan my certificates?

It is recommended that you use the programme or software that comes with your scanner. Do take note that you have to scan your certificates at 100 DPI. As there is a wide variety of scanners available on the market, it is impossible for us to list down the steps for each model. Hence, you are encouraged to consult your scanner manual on how to set it to 100 DPI and do a scan.

Why 100 DPI?
DPI stands for "dots per inch", which refers to the quality of your scanned certificate image. The higher the number, the greater the fineness or resolution (more detailed). A higher DPI will also result in a larger file size, which in turn will take you a longer time to save it online. In our case, 100 DPI is sufficient for a good quality of the scanned image and a reasonable file size.

If you are using Windows XP, you may want to try the following steps to scan your certificates.

Step 1:

Click on the Start button and go to Accessories and then select "Scanner and Camera Wizard"

Step 1

Step 2:

You should be able to see the following window along with your scanner model name.

Step 2

Step 3:

Select "Custom Settings"

Step 3

Step 4:

Adjust the settings as shown:

Step 4

Step 5:

Select where you want to store the scanned picture.

Step 5

Step 6:

Wait for your certificate to be scanned and you're done! Repeat the steps for every certificate you wish to scan.

Finally, when you're all done, proceed to My Certificates section to save all your newly scanned certificates. When all your certificates are verified, you will see a Certificates Verified icon on your profile.
